South African Food Review - The Journal For Food And Beverage Manufacturers

As the official journal of the South African Association for Food Science & Technology (SAAFoST), FOOD REVIEW presents its readers with accurate and authoritative reports on all aspects of food and beverage manufacture.

The journal informs readers about the launch of new ingredients, equipment, products and packs, and provides objective commentary on trends, important issues and relevant processing and packaging technologies that enable them to improve their manufacturing processes.

An editorial advisory board consisting of six members who are experts in their fields, ensures that FOOD REVIEW speaks with authority.  This board advises on trends, ensures accuracy of information and helps the journal to maintain both relevance and focus.

FOOD REVIEW strives to maintain balanced coverage of sectors as perse as baking, dairy, confectionery, snacks, beverages, etc. (it provides the only forum in South Africa for the entire spectrum of the beverage industry, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic).  Although it is not feasible to provide an in-depth article for every sector in every issue, care is taken to cover most sectors in general terms throughout the year, with a specialist focus on each in at least one issue every year.

As the circulation figures confirm, readership of FOOD REVIEW is perse, including as it does, general management, market research and production personnel from sectors as varied as meat, fish, vegetables, dairy, bakery, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, etc.

Registered readers, association members and subscribers account for 70% of the journal’s circulation – a remarkable achievement for a trade journal and one that attests to its relevance and value to its target audience.  FOOD REVIEW reaches a well-researched and carefully-targeted 4 099 readers (ABC) across all sectors of the food and beverage industries, including all members of the SA Association for Food Science & Technology (SAAFoST).  FOOD REVIEW is the only South African food industry journal that has access to the SAAFoST mailing list for distribution.  In addition, a readership survey revealed that, on average, each copy is read by 6.25 inpiduals.  Not only is this pass-on readership a measure of the respect the journal commands in the industry, it also indicates that in reality FOOD REVIEW is communicating with an audience of over 25 615 readers every month.
